New Zealand's Nick Neynens swore he wouldn't be the first to take off at the Gaisberg – but he was. Since then he's learnt to curb his enthusiasm and is doing well, in the low 20s - not far behind Dave Turner, the lone wolf legend who's crossed the Alps four times already.
"Nick's having a 'magic move' day, getting an early glide and is now established and should overtake a few people as he heads south towards Solden," says his supporter Louis Tapper.
